Nomination Packages

Please be informed that all the vacant positions left after the General Election have been filled.

Would you like to become a member of the ESA Council in the upcoming years? Our General Election is held every March, during which all 19 council positions are open for contest. To learn more about our organization and the different roles available, please read about them in the Constitution and Policy Documents below. You can also stay updated on the latest opportunities by following the ESA on social media. Additionally, you can get involved in the ESA by volunteering throughout the academic year.

Voting is now open for the 2024-25 ESA Council Election!

Head to https://www.su.ualberta.ca/governance/elections/ to cast your vote! Voting will be open from Wednesday, March 20 at 9:00 AM until Thursday, March 21 at 6:00 PM.


P.S. While our General Election is currently underway, the following roles are still open and are looking for candidates!

  • VP Finance (this important job helps fund our awesome activities and services and keep our finances in check!)

  • VP Academic (plan professional development opportunities for students throughout the year!)

  • Graduation Commissioner (organize our amazing annual graduation banquet!)

  • After Degree Representative (connect with students by promoting the ESA and our activities to students in your year!)

  • Third Year Representative (same as above! :-))

If you are interested in joining the council, please check out the Nomination Package for more information about roles and responsibilities. Once you have a role in mind, make sure to fill out the personal information form and email your minimum 5 signatures from students to Kaylee Luong, President, at esapres@ualberta.ca to become an interim council member!

The election season has begun at the ESA, and we are now accepting nominations for the 2024-25 year. If you're looking to get involved in student governance and build your resume, joining the ESA Council is a great opportunity. You'll also get to make new friends and great memories along the way!

The time commitment for each role varies. Executive positions require a minimum of 6 hours per week, while Commissioner roles require a minimum of 4 hours per week. Detailed information about each role and its responsibilities can be found in the Nomination Package. Please note that running for executive positions is not open to students doing two practicums in one school year.

If you're interested in running for the ESA Council, please take a look at the ESA Nomination Package, Constitution, and Policy Document. Once you've reviewed the information, please submit your application along with a copy of the Candidate Personal Info and Nomination Form to Anastasia, the ESA Deputy Returning Officer (DRO), at chepel@ualberta.ca. If you have any questions about the election process, please don't hesitate to contact the DRO.

Nomination packages are due by Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at 12:00 PM, but we encourage you to apply early!
