Attending a Teachers’ Convention
Students are no longer required to bring convention access cards.
However, we advise that all student local members bring their university identification on the off chance that they are asked for identification.
Just as in-service teachers are trusted to fulfill their professional attendance obligations, we trust that our student local members will also demonstrate the same level of professionalism to only attend if they are eligible.
Eligibility/Attendance Requirements for 2027
All preservice teachers registered in the final year of their undergraduate teacher education program can attend one convention in 2027 if they are members of their student local.
Preservice teachers who are on practicum during convention must attend the same teachers’ convention as their cooperating/partner teacher(s).
Preservice teachers who are not on practicum during convention season may attend one of the conventions listed for their institution, provided they do not miss classes.
