Open to 100 post-secondary students who are currently registered at an Alberta post-secondary school for the 2026/2027 year.
Your Commitment:
Be a mentor to two young people from September 2026 to May 2027
Spend 1 hour per week with each child (2 hours max) at a select Edmonton school
Complete mandatory enrolment, training, and matching requirements
What to Expect:
You’ll participate in the BGCBigs volunteer enrolment and training process, preparing you for a successful match with your mentees
Each meeting follows the 20-20-20 model: 20 minutes of getting to know each other, 20 minutes of academic support, and 20 minutes of activities
By being a positive role model and friend to your mentees, you’ll help them build self confidence, perform better in school, and feel connected to their community

CFUW Edmonton is proud to announce that the 2026 Tammy Irwin Scholarship for an Undergraduate Indigenous Woman is open for applications. Value $2000.
Eligibility Criteria
· Be a woman, born in Canada, who is of Aboriginal descent under the Constitution Act, 1982, Section 35(2) or a person accepted by one of the Aboriginal peoples of Canada as a member of their community.
· Is attending the University of Alberta, registered full-time as an undergraduate student in a degree program in the Fall and Winter terms in the 2025 - 2026 academic year.
· Is registered in the third or fourth year of her degree program.
· Has received grades for courses taken, as confirmed by the official University of Alberta transcript, with a minimum University of Alberta GPA of 3.5 for Fall Term 2025.
· This award can be won by one student once only.
