The event will take place in UCOMM on two different days: Wednesday Nov. 26 and Friday Nov. 28.
There will be two shifts: 9:30–11:30am and 12:30–2:30pm.
You may volunteer for one or both shifts. Food and drinks will be provided between shifts.

We need to fill the following roles (9 volunteers per shift):

Guides (6 per shift) — Guides will escort students between the Math Fair and Math Unfair and assist presenters in the Unfair rooms. Maps and clear instructions will be provided.

Each year, school divisions collaborate to bring a literacy initiative to Edmonton-area schools called "Read-In Week." Local schools open their doors to anyone willing to volunteer to share a love of reading with students. All it takes is a willing reader to contact a neighbourhood school and set up a time to read to a class (or a few classes!).

Would you be willing to share this initiative with the ESA? Here is a message you can post:

READ IN Week is coming October 6-10!

For over 30 years, Edmontonians have celebrated literacy and the love of reading during READ IN Week. From childhood to adulthood, literacy is a lifelong journey, and you can help.

As a pre-service teacher, this is an excellent opportunity to make connections to a local school and gain volunteer experience. To get started, call your neighborhood school and set up a time to read to a class or two or three! Don't forget to put it on your resume!

Volunteer to read and make a difference! Learn more at readin.ca.
