Teach English or French and sports in Calgary during the summer of 2025 to international kids. Who This Role Is Ideal For

RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Supervise and guide children during classroom and field trip activities

REQUIREMENTS:

·       Must have a valid driver's license and own a car to transport class equipment

·       Must be available to work daytime hours

·       Must demonstrate a high level of responsibility

·       Must possess basic management and interpersonal communication skills

·       Must be able to interact with parents and communicate student learning progress

·       Maintain a positive and fun learning environment using appropriate classroom management strategies

·       Must attend mandatory staff training as scheduled

·        University students in Engineering and Education are preferred but not required

 

Hire is dependent upon a Police Records Check.

 

PAY STRUCTURE:

Between $21-25, depending on experience.

 

TRAINING:

All teaching materials are included, along with support to strengthen your LEGO building skills. Instructor manuals, lesson plans, and session guides are provided.

Teacher - Reading Remediation (Grades 1 - 8)

What is the opportunity?

As a teacher for the Centre for Literacy, you will provide one-on-one individualized support to students who struggle with reading, comprehension, writing (and/or mathematics, if preferred). Support will be online from the comfort of your home. You will be provided with evidence-based specialized professional development, which is ongoing, expected and free for Centre for Literacy teachers.

What will you do?

  • Prepare individualized lesson plans.

  • Teach students remotely using the Google Suite platform.
    Classes are typically 45-60 minutes.

  • Report progress regularly.

  • Work with a mentor to develop competencies.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor of Education (or nearing completion)
